Another massive effort from all players last night. Be proud of the effort and take that intensity to your club this weekend.
Focus Points from Session 2:
Pass and catch at speed – 5m pass, reach for the catch two steps and release ball to target. Hands to finish at target. (GOAL AT HOME 200 PASSES A WEEK)
Two man tackle – First man hard chop tackle around the legs, second man wrap up ball and get the player to ground. Back on feet.
Defence shape – Off the edge of the ruck we lock in 10s then 20s, then 30s. We cannot watch the ball. We need to watch (MAN, BALL, BUDDY). Spread the width of the field, we must talk to each other and come hard off the line.

Forwards ball GREEN – Carry to outside shoulder, foot work, ball away from contact – OPTION TIP – short pass to outside forward if called.
Forwards PULL PASS - Forwards carry on a GREEN, if play maker calls PULL we play pass out the back to the ball player.
Backs ball HOT – If the ball player calls HOT, the forwards run through with the ball goes straight to the ball player.
GAMES – We need to make sure as a group the above skills are brought into training games. If you are unsure you can speak to me or one the coaches so you understand, this will come more and more important over the coming weeks.
FITNESS – No hands on knees, no sitting down. Up straight big breaths, support your mates. Our fitness will win us games.
Players need to contact me if you are late or going to miss training. We had two players late and 2 x registered players not attend training who did not contact me. The players who missed training and didn’t contact me owe the team. When you arrive you shake each coaches hand. Look them in the eye and ask them how there day has was.
Homework – We will randomly ask these questions so make sure you have an answer:
Name a great sporting team?
What made this team so special?
Do something for you mum and dad this week, that you hate doing. (Being a part of a team that achieves success is about sacrificing for those around you) I want to hear what you did next Monday night at training when you come up to say hello.
